Divorce Recovery Seminars

A New Beginning is the metro area’s most complete divorce recovery program held once per week for two hours.   There are 12 sessions.   Seminars are always held in the Spring and Fall, and frequently in the Summer and Winter depending upon demand.

The seminar brings people who are suffering through divorce into a Christian community where they can experience acceptance, caregiving,  and the love that God and others can provide.   This seminar provides insight into issues surrounding divorce, provides concepts for dealing with issues and recovery, and connects you with others who are going through the same experience.

Several professional speakers and caring leaders help you address your divorce issues in a constructive manner.

You will learn from and bond with others going through divorce and build friendships that will help you emotionally survive your divorce.   Participants come from a variety of churches and backgrounds.    You do not have to be affiliated with a church to participate.   The seminar is non-denominational.    People from a variety of Protestant backgrounds as well as Catholics, Mormons, and participants from non-Christian faiths such as Judaism have found the seminars to be comfortable and non-threatening.

The text is The Complete Divorce Recovery Handbook by John Splinter.    It is designed for a seminar format.

The book, a notebook for notes, and numerous pertinent handouts are provided.   The fee is $100.00 and scholarships are available as needed.

New Beginning

"I went through a divorce in 2007 and I attended the Divorce Recovery class offered by Christian Initiatives at my church.   I was devastated, very confused, and uncertain about going through a divorce.  This class helped me process every stage of the divorce. The book and handouts we studied and the different professional speakers brought clarity to what we were facing and gave us tools to work through this tough process.
"I highly recommend this class to any individual going through a divorce or who has been divorced.    It was key to helping me face the reality of divorce, truly recover, and move on with my life."
